Garden District New Orleans

Monday, January 26

Arrive in New Orleans and get settled into The Windsor Court, where you’ll experience timeless luxury just steps from the French Quarter. In the early evening, we’ll gather for a Champagne welcome in the hotel so you can meet our team and your fellow bakers.

Tuesday, January 27

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head to the baking lab at NOCHI, the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute, a non-profit organization focused on culinary and hospitality education. Here, we’ll bake two New Orleans icons: pralines and bread pudding before enjoying a chef-led jambalaya demonstration and seated wine lunch. The afternoon and evening are on your own to explore New Orleans. The renowned National WWII Museum is not far from NOCHI, and world-class shopping is abundant on Magazine Street in the Garden District.

Wednesday, January 28

Enjoy the morning on your own before we get back into the baking lab at NOCHI, this time to make our very own king cakes from start to finish. We couldn’t visit New Orleans during Mardi Gras without baking this Carnival season classic. In the late afternoon, we’ll head to Mardi Gras World, a working studio and museum in New Orleans where the famous Mardi Gras floats are designed and built. Unleash your inner creativity as we try our hands at mask making, and walk away with a special “made by you” souvenir. The evening will be on your own, and, of course, we will equip you with our list of favorite Crescent City restaurants.

Thursday, January 29

Get ready for a fabulous morning as we embark on a bakery tour to taste the creations of some of New Orleans’ best bakeries. There will be king cakes, beignets, and so much more! You’ll have some time on your own before a very special cocktail reception at the historic Garden District home of Eric Hoffman, Brian’s twin brother who lives with his family in The Big Easy.

Friday, January 30

No visit to New Orleans is complete without brunch at the iconic Brennan’s restaurant. We’ll indulge in signature brunch specialties, including Bananas Foster. After a farewell toast, depart with delicious memories of an incredible week spent in one of the country’s most colorfully unique cities.
