It wouldn’t be a visit to the South without learning how to bake one of the region’s most-famous recipes: biscuits. We’ll head to Callie’s Hot Little Biscuits biscuit house in a former officer’s house on the now defunct Charleston Naval Base. Owner Carrie Morey will lead a hands-on biscuit class for our group before we enjoy a Saturday biscuit brunch. We’ll travel back to The Charleston Place so you can enjoy the afternoon in Charleston. In the late afternoon, we’ll meet at Peninsula Grill for cake and a farewell toast. We won’t have just any cake: we’ll have the restaurant’s Ultimate Coconut Cake®, so legendary that it has an official trademark. Dinner will be on your own with our list of top restaurants to try while you’re in Charleston.
