Oat Streusel

Makes about 1 cup

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup (40 grams) old-fashioned oats
  • ¼ cup (31 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons (42 grams) firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 tablespoons (28 grams) cold unsalted butter, cubed

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Using a pastry blender or 2 forks, cut in cold butter until butter is pea-size. Pinch and rub pieces of butter into dry ingredients with fingertips until mixture comes together. Freeze for 10 minutes or until ready to use.
